I can tell you from personal observation, that is EXACTLY what they did. (For "village" read "township"). ________________________________ From: Daryl Richardson [mailto:h.d.richardson(--nospam--at)shaw.ca] In surveys such as George Washington did they probably (and I'm speculating) used independent surveys for each village and, when two different surveys came together, they measured and recorded the actual intersecting dimensions and angles and left it at that. As you say "Good enough for government work."
