What would be the occupancy load of an elevated running
track that wraps a gymnasium floor? My first impulse is to use 100 psf
for assembly because people could stand up there to watch an event. The
more I think about it though it is impractical to fill a 10 ft. wide running
track with people for an event unless there were raised bleachers added to
allow the back rows to see. If realistically only 3 rows deep of people
standing could watch an event wouldn’t a lower occupancy loading be more
realistic for the entire track support? What are others using fro running track live loads? Rich |
