Code produced in the hurricane prone Caribbean based on British Standards that used a 3-sec gust as its averaging period there are pressure coefiicients for Shelter roofs without walls. for a 10deg pitch and a 30 deg pitch.

The code has been extensively and successfully used in the Caribbean for thirty years and many hurricanes have passed through in this period.

Does anybody ave an example of wind load determination for a canopy? The wind resisting elements are a column and a beam forming a T. Something like:

            |
            |
            |

The T frames will be connected with purlins running in the other direction (3, one at the center and two at the edges) and roof decking on top. It is an open structure that will have uplift but I assume also lateral. How do you determine both using a US code? A solved example would be greta help.
