"P.Eng is the abbrevation for "Professional Engineer", the same as P.E. A "Chartered Engineer" is one who has been accepted into the respective institution in the UK (or other nation using the same designations). Eg "MIStructE" is a "Member of the Institute of Structural Engineers", a UK designation with global status. "AMICE" = Associate Member of the Institute of Civil Engineers", and so on. In New Zealand, they now have "CPEng" = "Chartered Professional Engineer": they tend to follow the old country :^).
