I have a somewhat similar situation - a client wants to put a 990 lb safe (plan dimensions 2 ft x 3 ft) in a condo building with a live load design of 40 lbs / sf. The slab is 6 in-thick, two-way post-tensioned concrete.
Does anybody have some good ideas about how to distribute the weight in an "upscale" manner, i.e. something compatible with the furnishings in a condo where the owners need such a safe. I was thinking something along the lines of cooling tower dunnage but I am not sure how that would work.
Thanks, Gail Kelley
